Full Map Reveal Not Coming This Week

> — Cocopjojo @ 11:28 am

Word from a Bungie employee, via GAF, is that we won’t be getting a full map reveal this week, as last Friday’s Weekly Update had hinted. “Just parts from/of one. After this week and early next week,” the Bungie staffer said, is apparently when a full reveal, or least a decent amount of information, is getting released. At least we’ll get a teaser shot or something of that sort this Thursday or Friday.

Only a few more days!

Hindsight: Halo 3 – Crows Nest

> — Cocopjojo @ 3:01 am

Crow’s Nest has been put up as the next installment in our Halo 3 review series. Check it out!

Also, a minor edit was made to the end of the Sierra 117 article; I had somehow attributed some lines of dialogue to Sierra 117 that actually belong in Crow’s Nest.

Old and Aspiring

> — Vociferous @ 3:16 pm

If someone would have told me that within six months of the release of Halo 3 another title would be dominating Xbox Live, I wouldn’t have believed them.

But yet, here we are, six months after the game’s release and another title is dominating Xbox Live with Halo 3 currently in the second slot. Obviously we could offer Call of Duty 4 a laundry heap of praise which may or may not be entirely sincere – as good of a game as it is.

Diehard Halo fans, losing their friend lists to other titles, are really asking only two questions:

  • Why is Halo 3 not in the same place as Halo 2 during its respective life cycle?
  • What is Bungie planning to do about it?

Well, I think we might have an answer to both of those questions and the solution, surprisingly enough, involves what we believe to be the content for the Legendary Map Pack visiting Xbox Live this Spring.

Hindsight: Halo 3

> — Cocopjojo @ 3:15 am

Hindsight is a series of articles that will take a look back at Halo 3’s single-player campaign on Legendary, and review each level from a gameplay and story perspective, as well as point out a few things that players may have missed along the way.

There are many scripted events, sequences, and dialogues that are missing from cooperative play due to the second player controlling the Arbiter. In addition, some levels include moments that the player does not typically encounter throughout the normal course of playing. As well as these interesting events, some areas of the game include direct references to other parts of the Halo universe which are oftentimes missed by both casual and hardcore fans alike.

We’re kicking it off with Arrival and Sierra 117, so check out the Hindsight page under the Halo 3 tab to take a detailed look at Halo 3’s campaign.
