  1. Aquatic looking; perhaps there is an island somewhere, or maybe the Library is under water.

    Comment by Sephirose — March 24, 2008 @ 5:54 pm

  2. I see a number of landmasses – maybe an archipeligo w/ ~80% water?
This one looks most interesting to me; pity they left it out of the games.

    Comment by Mr Toad — March 31, 2008 @ 6:48 pm

  3. Prehaps how the original installation 04 looked like with water levels at their peak (Remember the cliffs in Halo:CE)

    Comment by Arelason — March 31, 2008 @ 11:32 pm

  4. I’m seeing a very large body of water covered by either glaciers or clouds…

    Comment by SLEEKYx16 — May 2, 2008 @ 11:54 pm

  5. Also the symbol reads “A8”, and what’s with the top being open with the bent line protruding?

    Comment by SLEEKYx16 — May 2, 2008 @ 11:55 pm

  6. The turquoise water would hint a tropical archipelago.

    Comment by Diddler — May 3, 2008 @ 6:41 pm

  7. Huge glossy clouds cover this ring on its atmosphere and below, the giant turquoise seas indicate a humid environment. Like Diddler said, the various islands seem to point toward a conclusive archipelago landscape.

    Comment by Kabcr — May 3, 2008 @ 10:01 pm

  8. This one might have a verity of climates like 04 and 05 did.

    Comment by Stephen — May 5, 2008 @ 10:51 am

  9. As mentioned by Sephirose the Installation is aquatic looking and as Diddler also said it hints tropical geography.
The Installation could (or are) very well be a series of large tropical islands. If this is true, transportation would be very interesting, the Installation could have bridges above and below the ocean waters that could link up each island.

    P.S.
I like what Sephirose mentioned about the library being underwater

    P.P.S
I can imagine a Halo series of Lost on that ring

  10. I also like the idea of the library underwater

  11. Forerunner Tank.

    Comment by Cocopjojo — May 9, 2008 @ 11:41 am

  12. In one part of the picture it looks like there are lights from maybe a forerunner city. Just a thought. Maybe the people living there were killed when the ring was fired but the power remained on.

    Comment by Chris — May 10, 2008 @ 11:46 pm

  13. There is a small area on this ring that looks like lights to an abandoned city. Possibly forerunner that were in suspended animation at the time of activation? unless Bungie includes this installation we will never know

    Comment by Claudio117 — May 10, 2008 @ 11:59 pm

  14. what city?

    Comment by Commder Paul — May 14, 2008 @ 11:25 am

  15. there was a small spot that looked like a group of lights. Just an observation, it might have been just sand.

    Comment by Chris — May 14, 2008 @ 10:17 pm

  16. OK, this seems like an aquatic one. There is an small landmass, so we can possibly say that there’s a humid atmosphere. I don’t know about a city, But with that much moisture, It’s safe to say that the library may be underwater.

    Comment by Chris000 — May 16, 2008 @ 7:11 am

  17. Looks as if the Forerunners build the rings to specific atmospheres/terrain. It could be said that installation 03 is generic aquatic world/ring. Perhaps the control room and facilities are below the surface of the ocean.

    Comment by Reptilian Rob — May 23, 2008 @ 2:45 am

  18. since when did 3 installations get earth like environments? cuz if ya look closely you see land…and on that level that ya see these on there ish only 2 earth like rings 04 being the one closest to the actiation panel and 05 being to the left or right to it depending which way you are looking at it..

    Comment by Garry — May 23, 2008 @ 2:17 pm

  19. this planet is inhabited by a small sub-species of foreunner and most of the population resides in large biospheres on the ocean’s floor

    Comment by coktail assasin — May 23, 2008 @ 6:43 pm

  20. the halo ring seems to be covered by a turquoise Atmosphere. the gylph has a curved line on the side of it which means that theres a water flow current. i’m assuming that this ring could be completely covered in ice and water (Which is a good sign), this means that it is (habitatable), and it can be terraformed by human colonizing technology (Terraforming is a process that takes either 5 – 13 years).

    Comment by survivaljuice — May 23, 2008 @ 10:33 pm

  21. i wish that bungie comes up with another game where the halos are about to fire for some reason and you have to blow them all up

    Comment by deathless — May 26, 2008 @ 12:34 pm

  22. do u people even pay attention? you all are just trying to draw conclusions about why the rings look different instead of doing that why dont you try to think about why this site has them in the order that they have it in? ( and in my opinion incorrect because only 04 and 05 had earth like environments and yet in the 05 tab it has a red environment possibly lava ) didnt any of you atleast ONCE think that the pictures (and maybe the descriptions ) where incorrect? installation 01 came first so isnt it logical it would be the one closest to the activation panel? so installation 07 being the last to be the one farthest away (also being the first one that u see coming up out of the elevator)? also think about this the information that this site gives you is stating that there where 3 earth like rings, yet we no for a fact that there where only 2…think about that!

    Comment by Garry — May 26, 2008 @ 4:23 pm

  23. actually ur wrong installation 04 is the one with the red parts because it is not finished from when MC destroyed it so you use it as a reference point to number the other rings so your order is wrong

    Comment by Chris — May 27, 2008 @ 1:05 am

  24. actually thats exactly what i did, but think of this since installation 04 si the one with all the red parts then in the order that yall say that they should go in then in the game installation 05 should be 04, also take the time to go to installation 04. as soon as u step out of that door and 04 is in front of you go to the left of it and look at it. look to your right u will see a ring (note this will not work unless u have already stoppped the activation and killed the flood in the area) ok step up into the holographic thingy that is projecting te ring, look up and zoom into the top of the ring. u will notice that it has an envrionment similar to installation 04. so wouldnt it make since that ring is installation 05?

    Comment by Garry — May 28, 2008 @ 5:14 am

  25. yea that does make sence

    Comment by SPARTANF-259 — May 28, 2008 @ 11:25 am

  26. I’ve seen those symbols before…but they look different then what you see now.

    There Musical Notes.

Instillation 02s Symbol looked like the stick for a Violin playing over the strings.

    Comment by Verses Fatum — May 29, 2008 @ 5:18 pm

  27. Oh and the Instillations color isn’t the enviorment…its the Monitors “Eye” Color.

Instillation 05: Red Color=2401 Panetent Tangent

Instillation 04: Bluish Color=343 Guilty Spark.

Instillation 00: Yellow Color=05-032 Mendicant Bias.(Epitephs Gliph is Yellow just like The Arks map.)

    Comment by Verses Fatum — May 29, 2008 @ 5:22 pm

  28. no it isnt otherwise everything in halo 2 would be red…and we dont know if epitaph is on installation 07 or not….

    Comment by SPARTANF-259 — May 30, 2008 @ 11:06 am

  29. lol the 2 other rings in the screenshot forms the Marathon SYmbol

    Comment by Antero — May 31, 2008 @ 8:21 am

  30. The ring is either pure water or ice, it would make sense since the Flood can’t do much in water.

    Comment by Spartan-039 — June 16, 2008 @ 6:27 pm

  31. i keep getting the idea that this is installation 05, in the following pic i circled all the places i see land..

    Comment by Mal — June 21, 2008 @ 1:54 pm

  32. hmm it didnt show..oh well lol

    Comment by Mal — June 21, 2008 @ 1:55 pm

  33. Well it look like a tropical water based ring, full of clouds because of the heat. Probably to test the Flood in a hot atmosphere. I can see some land near the edges of the ring, maybe the entrance to the cartographer, for example, would be in those places. I can’t say it’s ice-based because the white looks to me more like clouds.

    Comment by Antonio — June 24, 2008 @ 9:02 pm

  34. they are clouds..i think this is installation 05 not 03…

    Comment by chiefy — June 30, 2008 @ 3:27 pm

  35. its about time someone freeking figured it out ITS INSTALLATION 05 NOT 03

    Comment by garry — July 12, 2008 @ 7:51 pm

  36. How is this 05? There is now way it is still in good condition. An elite from Ghosts of Onyx said “the holy relic is tainted”. The holy relic as in delta halo or 05. They either glassed it or the flood infected it. This cant be 05.

    Comment by A HAM5TER — July 28, 2008 @ 6:29 pm

  37. May it be Delta Halo (Halo2 contstruct)

The fact that it had, on one level, a set of islands that you needed to hop across to reach Mercy may be one of many sets of islands dotting that Installation.

    Comment by Chrim 5 — August 17, 2008 @ 5:16 pm

  38. looks like its mostly water. like the forerunners might have built their facilities under the water, like in halo 2.probably 2 reduce the chance of an out break getting out to the surface.

    Comment by SFF — August 23, 2008 @ 6:11 pm

  39. ok this one looks like a water rich planet. the curve in the symbol at the top means water. then the two cicles around it mean current. so this installation is probably a water rich instalation, with currents and tides wherever shore be

    Comment by Dylan — September 12, 2008 @ 11:56 pm

  40. Seems to me that it is indeed aquatic. By the way, has anyone considered that each ring might be modeled after each of the main races homeworlds? The grunts are from an icy world, jackals from a tropical one, etc.

    Comment by Rolla7 — September 14, 2008 @ 11:48 am

  41. I don’t think this ring has enough landmass to be Delta Halo (Installation 05), when I was on it in Halo 2 the terrain looked completely different.

    Comment by Ziterminator — September 18, 2008 @ 1:58 am

  42. Don’t you people see the landmasses? They are tough to see, but it’s right on the outer edge of the ring. It goes on inconsistently. It’s like the installation 04 and 05, but has more water. If there’s not much room for buildings on the land, then it may have structures in the water like Installation 05 had, with elevators that lead to each one.

    Comment by Person — September 27, 2008 @ 6:42 pm

  43. Last time I checked, there is no such thing as green and brown water that occurs in an ocean. If you look towards the left you can make out an island. This is probably the location of the library.

    Comment by Wrath of T3nma — November 18, 2008 @ 10:41 pm

  44. The numbering seems to be reversed–the one at the elevator is, by canon, Installation 07. This is actually Delta Halo.

    Comment by an elite — May 11, 2009 @ 7:55 pm

  45. people, this is instalation 05. This sites instalation 05 is volcanic, were the levels delta halo & regret from halo 2 all volcanic and firey. I don’t think so… This ring has an earth like enviroment, just like the actual instalation 05 from halo 2.

    Comment by Darknesskirby2 — June 29, 2009 @ 3:30 pm

  46. i would have been your daddy skull number sequence shows this is 03
And i wonder if 03 is ocean 04 is temperate 05 was tropical
    symbol shows waves
