Ascendant Justice... without you I would have bored of Halo's campaign long ago, but your detailed and fun insights have led me to play all of the games over again just to see what i've missed. R.I.P, Ascendant Justice. You will be missed.

There are some similarity but on the whole I think what's been pointed out is stretching it a bit far.

Also, flood infection form are much larger than a football. They are shown in game to be as large or larger than a man's head. Also, the biology is much different from xeno facehuggers. Infection forms are soft bulbous things with numerous tentacles that pop when forcibly hit.

And the fleshy sacs that contain infection forms are much larger than xenomorph eggs. They are seen from a distance in the picture, not to mention you see them from the perspective of a somewhat colossal human(6'10" and weighs half a ton when in his armor).

The military dialogue I also find to be somewhat forced, as if you went to a real military and heard such utterances, would you be convinced they too were taking it from the show? I think it's more along the lines of dialogue reflecting what you would actually hear.

Just my opinions though. I also think it would do well to show differences along with the similarities, such as the differences in the flood. The gravemind being a sentient hivemind that culminates knowledge from the sentient creatures it absorbs with the infection form, and the "pure" flood which can change between different forms. As well as the elites being more akin to human anatomy(in regards to flesh and bone, rather than structure), rather than being like xenomorphs who have exoskeletons. For instance.

There's also the whole thing about the halo and its six brother rings that get rid of all sentient life that the forerunners built and used to sacrifice themselves to stop the flood. But I guess that import part of the plot doesn't matter as much when you're only looking for similarities?

Also, I don't think the character models look like who you think they do. They're blocky, poorly lighted character models, they could look like anyone. It's also of note that Sgt Johnson didn't have a cigar in the first game. I don't seem to remember him having a cigar in the second game either. Curious that you choose the third game to depict him.

Alright, I've said enough. Probably too much. Eh.

I don't know what you people are complaining about. As far as i'm concerned Halo:CE was amazing, Halo 2 was just as good, and i can't wait to play Halo 3(I don't have an Xbox 360 yet, but i'm working on it). Also, as far as any flaws in the games, DEAL WITH IT!! Flaws and glitches in the game just make it more fun, because it gives you something new to deal with. It forces you to change your tactics, just like war should really be. Which is more interesting to deal with,an average gamer, or a noob glitcher? The noob right? And if people like that piss you off, teach them a lesson BY OWNING THEM!People have a tendency to stop using noob tactics if they don't work.Speaking of which, camping is not necessarily a noob tactic, if applied correctly and not abused.
Nice article enjoyed reading it, the Installation Overview, and I,Sanghaeli (did i spell that right?).My avatar is, in fact, a Covenent Elite.

Long live Halo, Bungie is amazing.

Echo-411, It could be some sort of EMP like you said but I think of it as a sort of Giant power drain which takes all nearby facilities and drains them of power so it could take off. I'm not sure if the power drain or EMP comes off the portal. Might do.

Oh, and regarding the armour thing. Yes, I do see the human, but it seems largely off porportions. What could've been suggested was the composition of a Contender-class AI's crystal. It was a compound mind and must've been comprised of many parts.
Cortana was stored in a flat piece of crystal, probably because her code and mimicked sentience was linear. But Mendicant Bias, being far more capable, might've required a 3-dimensional crystal carved in a specific shape to store his codes.

If the forerunners ONLY used glyphs to communicate, Cortana must've had a heck of the time at the terminals and with the Covenant AIs...

You guys knew halo like no-one else. If ever i had spare time i would always come here to see and learn about halo. Without you I probably never would have been such a raving fan so I had to say something. I hope to see some of your writing into halo lore posted on halo waypoint. Good luck.
