Here's a thought: the Forerunner built each Halo with different climates because they wanted variety? Be more aesthetic? Interesting? Having 7 gigantic metal rings would look bland and get old after a while.

Or, this ring could have been covered with massive oceans and landmasses like 04 was, but climate control was/is malfunctioning.

Or maybe the climates of each ring evolved separately over time.

Or maybe they are located at different points of their respective solar systems, and their climates are reflective of that (like how planets in our solar system have different climates; 04 is in a "Goldilocks" location, like Earth; this one is in a Venus-like location).

Actually,Riley, the ship over SandTrap is called "Aegis Fate",just zoom in near the top of the ship with a Sniper Scope.

On Topic, the Chieftain fight is my favorite part of the level now. Thanks for pointing that out!

Cheers!

Regarding the Flood's success, or lack thereof, in previous galaxies, I don't think their lack of a huge fleet of ships emerging from upon the Forerunner's galaxy necessarily means that they weren't successful elsewhere. They were not independently intelligent. Their manifestations were clumsy and one-minded, as they had a complete cerebral dependency on the Gravemind. In my opinion, they could be pointed in the right direction, or "Told what to do," so to speak, but lacked the creative facilities to do come up with multiple paths to their goal, or dynamic ways to reach them. The Flood were extremely efficient w/ the spread of their cells to other sentients, but beyond that, everything they did seemed belabored and clumsy. That they were successful in defeating other galaxies who succumbed to their devastation, yet had very little success employing other life forms' versions of space travel, doesn't come as a surprise to me.

I thought it was highlighted a faint red because that was where the standby status originated from at the end of Halo 2, just maybe...

in the King of the hill bit, theres actually a path to get behind the chieftain. At the sniper spawn, walk forward then turn right. Hug the cliff and you'll come out kinda diagonal to the brute rock. watch out though coz theres a heap of grunts with plasma pistols.
