Hindsight: Halo 3’s sixth installment, Floodgate, is now available for your perusal. Floodgate may be one of the shortest levels in the game, time-wise, but it’s one of the richest when it comes to Halo’s story: the Flood have reached Earth, Cortana may be with them, and the Sangheili arrive and proclaim themselves as your allies. Click the link below to be taken to the Hindsight: Halo 3 page, where you can find Floodgate and its addendum, as well as the rest of the levels’ articles.

The fifth installment of Hindsight: Halo 3 has gone up. The Storm is an epic level, with the perfect mix of on-foot and vehicle encounters. Cortana makes her return, we have our first battle with a Scarab and we finally reach, and pass, the events seen in the Halo 3 Announcement Trailer. DMiller, a single player mission designer at Bungie, has graciously offered to provide some “behind-the-scenes” tidbits for one of his levels - Crow’s Nest. In order to do these comments justice, I’ve incorporated them into the Crow’s Nest article, so that they fall into place in the areas he’s speaking of.
Not only does he point out some things that I missed, but he also provides comments on the design evolution of the level!

Hindsight: Halo 3’s Tsavo Highway has (finally) gone up. This level has a little bit of everything - epic vehicle battles, large-scale pedestrian encounters, and perhaps a surprise or two. Did you know that the Brutes use Morse code and regularly listen to the Halo 1 Original Soundtrack? It’s true. Hit the jump for the write-up.

Crow’s Nest has been put up as the next installment in our Halo 3 review series. Check it out!
Also, a minor edit was made to the end of the Sierra 117 article; I had somehow attributed some lines of dialogue to Sierra 117 that actually belong in Crow’s Nest.

Hindsight is a series of articles that will take a look back at Halo 3’s single-player campaign on Legendary, and review each level from a gameplay and story perspective, as well as point out a few things that players may have missed along the way.
There are many scripted events, sequences, and dialogues that are missing from cooperative play due to the second player controlling the Arbiter. In addition, some levels include moments that the player does not typically encounter throughout the normal course of playing. As well as these interesting events, some areas of the game include direct references to other parts of the Halo universe which are oftentimes missed by both casual and hardcore fans alike.
We’re kicking it off with Arrival and Sierra 117, so check out the Hindsight page under the Halo 3 tab to take a detailed look at Halo 3’s campaign.
